New illustration: Scene

Hi everyone, so as part of my entry for the Zyra Banez competition 2014 I’ve been drawing like crazy and trying to find the right one! This is one of these drawings. I still haven’t decided on my entry but we have until June and there is no need to rush. 

So initially I started out with plans to make an emo outfit but then I realised the promarker tones I had didn’t suit that range so I change it to ‘scene’ (the happy and brighter version of emo). 

As usual, my drawing process: I drew a plan first of what I wanted to do and I decided on a short fur jacket and a Leopard print corset. (I’m sure most of you know I’m almost famous for my corsets :P.

Media used: Promarkers, Faber Castell Classic Colour 24, Derwent studio 12, Watercolour and Fineliner 0.1.

Zyra Banez Competition 2014.

I love my readers and fans so I try and find the best opportunities for you guys to try and make fashion drawing easier for you. 

Today I bring to you the Zyra Banez Competition 2014! Zyra Banez is holding a competition with some amazing art prizes involved. Initially it was supposed to be for people starting out in fashion illustration but she didn’t make that one of the rules so the competition should be tough. The competition is international. Which means me living in the UK and Zyra living in Australia doesn’t matter at all. I’ll be entering this competition so watch out! You have to design a complete outfit of your style and submit via one of her social networks. For more info on this head to her YouTube channel or her blog. 

One reader contacted me via Facebook and asked why I don’t have a YouTube channel. The reason I don’t is at the moment I don’t have a working camera, I have an iPhone and I don’t think that’s suitable to take full videos and tutorials on. I also want to wait till my blog reaches 3000 views so the YouTube videos actually get views.

Zyra Banez – LOVEtHEART Fashion.

I didn’t post yesterday because my wifi wasn’t working…! Oh no! Anyway in today’s post I’m going to be talking about my favourite fashion illustrator. Let’s get started! 

Her name is is Zyra Banez! Zyra is 18 and is a fashion illustrator based in Australia. She is one of my favourite illustrators and I learned a lot of things from her. I also wanted to tell you guys that I asked to interview her, just for this blog and she said yes! So watch out for that guys! Her YouTube channel has loads of tutorials and time lapse videos of her creating really beautiful illustrations. Just from watching them I learnt a lot. She uses copic ciao markers and I use letraset promarkers however it was from her that I learnt how to use markers properly. Her style and technique is amazing. She’s a regular vlogger. Like you and I she’s a human being so she gets busy but she uploads often. Her channel is really good and informative so go and check that out right away!
